Another Buddy Update

Buddy decided to make a nice mess and make snow angels in the kitchen.

He apparently flew in from the chimney and left footprints for us to discover.

The following day happened to be my birthday.  I had already decided that we would be stealing an idea my sister's elf had done..."bow the house"...the ENTIRE, and I mean ENTIRE house was covered in bows.  Everywhere you could imagine had a bow on it...the center of all the bows landed on one place...around Buddy in his chair.  He, himself, covered in bows...we are still finding bows everywhere...

The morning of my birthday, Dylan woke up to the bows and said Buddy must have done it for my birthday....but of course!....I'd actually never thought of it, but it sounded great!  After some birthday events, Dylan worked on his second loose tooth and in a matter of about 2 minutes, pulled that tooth out! I was so proud of him!  It wasn't even close to coming out, but he was brave and decided he wanted it out.  Out came the tooth!

That night was a busy night...we had Buddy the Elf heading off to see Santa, as well as the Tooth Fairy coming for a visit!  Apparently, Buddy and the Tooth Fairy ran into each other in passing.  We woke to an enormous pile of glitter by the front door, along with a staggering trail of glitter, numerous items flipped upside down, turned sideways, etc, along with a note from Buddy explaining the situation.  It stated "Dylan, Sorry for everything being all messed up. I ran into the Tooth Fairy as she was leaving and we bumped heads.  I am so dizzy!"  A glittery mess and items jumbled galore was what we woke up to.

The next night Buddy and Captain America decided to have a little fun.

Buddy made a fort to hide out in while he & Captain America had a marshmallow fight!

Then Buddy decided to pose next to Dylan & Blake's new picture with Santa and go fishing for Goldfish.

An Update on Buddy

Buddy continued his tricks by making a marshmallow game.  Dylan & Blake woke up to find him throwing marshmallows at a pyramid of cups.  Dylan was immediately intrigued by this game & wanted to join in...Blake, however, was not.  As Dylan & I took turns in throwing marshmallows at the cups & seeing who could knock down the most, Blake was not having any of it.  He had no interest whatsoever in throwing any marshmallows at cups...he only wanted to eat all the marshmallows!

The next day Buddy was found in a nice marshmallow bubble bath and  enjoying some of the delicious cookies that Dylan & Blake had made.

Then Buddy was found flying around & around on the ceiling fan the following morning.

Buddy decided to wrap the Christmas tree in toilet paper & hide out in the tree.

Buddy was found hanging from the chandelier and removed all the ornaments from my dining table Christmas tree.

After the slumber party, Buddy was found in Dylan's room with Spiderman making a web & hanging from the web.

Buddy really enjoyed hanging from the web all day. :)

And after the very crazy busy weekend of a slumber party with four kids, two birthday parties in a day, and Christmas on the Square, my kids still amaze me at how wonderful they are.  We had a blast all night at Christmas in the Square: getting goodies at Popperella's, watching the lights & listening to the music & riding the train & the horse drawn carriage.  After a very busy day, and very short naps, they were still just as happy as could be!

Our Ice Weekend

This weekend the Dallas/Ft. Worth area was hit with a very major ice storm.  Schools closed, roads were completely impassable, everyone was basically confined to their homes.  I had some of the best times with my boys this weekend.
Although we were confined to the house, we made the best of it.  I bundled the boys up and they had a blast slipping and sliding their way around the front & back yards.  We were blanketed with over 4" of ice.  What looks like snow, was actually complete ice.  They tried picking it up and attempted to make snowballs, but were those snowballs just wouldn't form.  Regardless, they enjoyed laying on their bellies & sliding down the front yard to the street!
After we came back in & warmed up to some hot chocolate by the fire, the boys decided to make a fort.  They had a blast!  One of the blankets used happened to be one that stored a LOT of static electricity...which only made the fort that much more fun!

At one point I noticed that the noise level was too low this morning...I found Blake attempting to be sneaky...

And then found him in my purse trying to put on some chapstik!  (That hair is still cracking me up!)

After a while we decided to make some Christmas cookies.  I feel a HUGE mess is in my near future...

 Dylan hard at work...

Blake hard at work eating the decorations...

Our end results!  Probably the coolest cookies I've ever been a part of!
I love these boys so much!

Buddy's Back! ...And so is blogging!

Well, it's been way, way, way too long since my last post...but recent events have given me cause to get back on the blogging bandwagen.  There have been major turns of events in my life recently that have given cause to my lack of blogging, however, one big reason I'm back is that Buddy is back!!  Buddy made his well anticipated return a few days ago.  His return was met with much excitement!

Buddy returned on the day after the boys & I returned from Kansas for Thanksgiving break.  He made himself a marshmallow sign letting the boys know he was back in town and returning the book for it's nightly reading.  Dylan was beyond thrilled (as he's been talking about Buddy for days) and Blake was just excited because Dylan was so excited.

The second night Buddy returned and apparently had a great time making snowmen out of marshmallow's and having a snowball fight with some smaller marshmallows with the snowmen themselves in the pantry.  Dylan was so excited all day long telling me probably 100 times that "I love Buddy!! He's my favorite!" and using his manners non-stop.  I can get used to this!  He kept the pantry door open for Buddy to watch him eat his entire dinner without complaining, just so Buddy could report the good news to Santa.

The following night buddy decided to replace all the stockings on the mantel with some of Dylan's underwear.  He was found swinging in one pair of Dylan's underwear.  Dylan & Blake both absolutely loved this trick of Buddy's.

The next night Buddy was entertained by some of Dylan's cars that he loves.  He made a makeshift racetrack and was found in the morning racing the cars around the racetrack.

Then Buddy had a great time with Spiderman playing the Cars2 match game.  Buddy was ahead 3-1.  However, when Dylan saw the game, he just couldn't resist himself.  He tried to play for Buddy & Spiderman, in an attempt to make Buddy win the game.  In his pursuit, he accidentally knocked Buddy over causing Buddy to land on his head.  If you know anything about Elf on the Shelf, you know that the Elf absolutely cannot be touched.  Dylan was sad he touched him.  The next morning,
Buddy was a little sick.  With a note telling Dylan & Blake to remember to not touch him.  If he is touched he loses his magic and he becomes weak & sick.  Poor Buddy spent the entire day wrapped up in his blanket & pillow.  Hopefully he will regain some strength for tomorrow.

My Little "Helper"

It was quiet....too quiet. I went into Blake's room to find him emptying his entire sock bin, unrolling every matched pair & putting every single clean sock into the laundry basket. I guess he thought I needed some work to do!

Mother's Day Weekend Rewind

This weekend was fantastic!  Having my parents in town made Mother's Day weekend even sweeter.  My mom & dad took Dylan shopping for me for Mother's Day.  He picked out some beautiful flowers for me to put in my flower bed.  He was so excited to get to work..."That's MY job!!" as he put it.  My dad, Dylan and Blake did a great job & I think they had a lot of fun planting the flowers.
Getting busy

Hard at work with Blake supervising

Blake decided to step in & help out

Almost finished!

And Dylan's favorite part...he is growing his own tomato plant.  He was SUPER excited about this one.
